Job Summary:
The Technical Services Engineer, specializing in Chemical Engineering, is responsible for providing technical expertise and support to internal and external stakeholders. This role involves analyzing engineering problems, developing innovative solutions, and ensuring the effective implementation and maintenance of processes and systems. The Technical Services Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to address technical issues, optimize operations, and contribute to the successful completion of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct research and analysis to identify engineering problems, assess their impact, and propose appropriate solutions.
2. Develop and implement technical strategies, guidelines, and standards to improve operational efficiency and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
3. Create and maintain technical documentation, including reports, specifications, manuals, and operating procedures.
4. Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and increased productivity.
5. Provide technical support and guidance to internal stakeholders, including operations, maintenance, and quality assurance teams.
6. Collaborate with external partners, such as suppliers, contractors, and regulatory agencies, to ensure effective communication and resolution of technical issues.
7. Participate in the design and modification of chemical engineering systems, equipment, and processes to meet project requirements.
8. Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses to evaluate proposed engineering solutions.
9. Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve complex technical problems and prevent recurrence.
10. Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements, and best practices in chemical engineering to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
2. Proven experience in a technical services or engineering role within the chemical industry.
3. In-depth knowledge of chemical engineering principles, processes, and equipment.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply engineering concepts to practical situations.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely.
6. Proficiency in utilizing engineering software and tools for design, analysis, and process simulation.
7. Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and effectively manage multiple priorities.
